Moves (adding, dropping, trading)
Quick Summary
Unlimited moves (add, drop, trades). Other teams still have the right to object. There is now a 12 hour delay from the time of trade submission and trade completion. During this interval other teams can counteroffer
- One move is defined as adding/dropping/trading a single player or draft pick
- Teams cannot perform any moves until 24 hours after the start of that season's draft
- Trade/Add/Drop deadline directly proceeds August 1st sim
- Trades can be rejected if 40% of teams object to the trade
- Trades are not considered completed until 12 hours after the trade has been submitted to the trade site. During those 12 hours, other players may submit offers to outbid the current offer. If the new offer is clearly better compared to the original trade (example: round 1 pick vs round 2 pick), the new offer must be accepted or the old offer must be void (the Mika rule)
- For trades to take place for an upcoming sim, the trade must be submitted 12 hours before the sim. For example, sim #1-4 is at 8:00 pm. For a trade to be completed in time for this sim, the trade must be entered by 8:00 am (12 hours prior to the sim)
Roster Management
- Players who reach 2.0 UTIL rating must be shut down for the rest of the year
- New! If 5 players are over UTIL for a season that team drops 2 spots in the draft for the first round
- Lineups set by computer or human manager may not have players playing out of position
- Only pitchers who started at least one game during the regular season can be used as a starter in the sim
- Teams must have at least 6 pitchers and 10 batters
- Teams must always carry at least 3 catchers with +100 PA
- Teams are not allowed to have more than 36 players at any time during the season
Draft
- The commissioner is not allowed to answer questions whose answers can be found on the internet - especially during the draft
- The draft is 5 rounds. Straight draft based upon final record for non playoff teams and playoff result for playoff teams
- If a player's name is mispelled on the draft board, it is up to the team that chose the player to announce the error. Otherwise, the player could be picked up by another team (the Dee Fondi rule)
